TEST PERCENTAGE MONITORING

Safety and Effective Care Environment

Test 1 - 15/25 - 60%

http://nclexreviewers.com/nclex-sample-questions/safe-and-effective-care-environment/safe-and-effective-care-environment-nclex-review-questions.html

Test 2 -

the health care team

occupational therapist -  helps physically disabled clients adapt to physical limitations and is most qualified to help a child with cerebral palsy eat and perform other activities of daily living.

registered dietitian - manages and plans for the nutritional needs of children with cerebral palsy but isn’t trained in modifying or fitting utensils with assistive devices.

physical therapist - is trained to help a child with cerebral palsy gain function and prevent further disability but not to assist the child in performing activities of daily living.

nursing assistant  - can help a child eat; however, the nursing assistant isn’t trained in modifying utensils.

Types of Nursing Intervention

Nursing interventions are classified as independent, interdependent, or dependent.

1. independent intervention - represents an altering the drug schedule to coincide with the client’s daily routine  ,
2. interdependent intervention - consulting with the physician and pharmacist to change a client’s medication

3. dependent intervention - administering an already-prescribed drug on time is a .

4. intradependent nursing intervention doesn’t exist.

Client Advocay and Confidentiality

The nurse violated confidentiality by informing the officer that the client wasn’t in treatment. Even with law enforcement agents, the nurse must be a client advocate and protect the client’s confidentiality. Information can be legally withheld when a court order isn’t in place.

therapeutic nurse-client relationship

Although all of the options are desirable, knowledge of self is the basis for building a strong, therapeutic nurse-client relationship. Being aware of and understanding personal feelings and behavior are prerequisites for understanding and helping clients.

When a nurse attempts to influence a family’s decision with her own opinions and values, the situation becomes one of over involvement on the nurse’s part and a non therapeutic relationship. When a nurse keeps communication channels open, works with family members to decrease their dependence on health care providers, and instructs family members so they can accomplish tasks independently, she has developed an appropriate therapeutic relationship.

restraint or seclusion

The primary physician in charge of a client’s care must write an order for the restraint within 8 hours. In an emergency, a client who is a threat to himself or others may be restrained without an order. Voluntary clients have the right to leave against medical advice. A minor is treated the same as an adult regarding restraints.

organ donnation

The donor and recipient must have compatible blood and tissue types. They should be fairly close in size and age. When a living donor is considered, it’s preferable to have a relative donate the organ. Need is important but it can’t be the critical factor if a compatible donor isn’t available.

telephone medication order

When taking a medication order over the telephone, standard practice requires verbal verification of the order and the physician’s written signature within 24 hours. The nurse practice act doesn’t prohibit taking medication orders over the telephone

The Rosary Novena to our Lady

"The devotion in this novena combines three things which are dear to God in a very remarkable scheme; frequent communion, the practice of the virtues, and devotion to Mary in the Rosary.   One who will carry it out faithfully will have besieged Heaven in a way that will make him heard...Rev. R. P. Lawrence

54 Day Miracle Novena

Our church history reveals to us that on March 3, 1884, Our Lady of Pompeii appeared before the gravely ill daughter of an Italian military officer.  Through her, Our Lady gave the world the miraculous devotion of the 54 days Rosary Novena.
  My introduction to this
Beautiful Rosary Novena
Over 20 years ago, I met a women on an airline flight,  she saw me praying the rosary and asked me if I have ever seen or heard of this particular book called "Rosary Novenas to Our Lady".   She mentioned that this book had been around since 1924 (the novena has been around since 1884...see above) I was intrigued.  We exchanged numbers, she was going to let me know where I could get a copy of the book.   Several months later, this woman happened to be in the city where I lived, she was attending a Catholic Teachers Conference.  She called me...I was surprised that she remembered us meeting and thankful to God that she did.  She told me where I could get a copy of the Novena.  I thanked her and a week later she sent me a copy of the Novena book herself...I know with every breath I take that I was meant to have this precious Novena to pray.  I immediately started to pray the novena...it was hard at first to get use to...at that time in my life...I went to daily mass and said my prayers, but work was busy and stressful.  It was hard to find the time to really focus on the novena without being so tired.  But I felt it was something that Our Sweet Holy  Mother was calling me to do...I kept as faithful as I could to the novena...there were days that I failed but I kept going until I finished.  There was a tremendous sense of peace inside of me during and after I recited this novena.  If you had any petitions when you prayed this novena...you didn't worry about them at all.
Holy Mother of God
Pray for us

"Of all prayers, the Rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in grace; of all, it is the one which is most pleasing to Mary, the Virgin Most Holy. Therefore, love the Rosary and recite it every day with devotion." Saint Pius X
This novena is to be said along with a daily rosary.
My dearest Mother Mary, behold me, your child, in prayer at your feet. Accept this Holy Rosary, which I offer you in accordance with your requests at Fatima, as a proof of my tender love for you, for the intentions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in atonement for the offenses committed against your Immaculate Heart, and for this special favor which I earnestly request in my Rosary Novena:  (Mention your request)
I beg you to present my petition to your Divine Son. If you will pray for me, I cannot be refused. I know, dearest Mother, that you want me to seek God’s Holy Will concerning my request. If what I ask for should not be granted, pray that I may receive that which will be of greater benefit to my soul.

I offer you this spiritual “Bouquet of Roses” because I love you. I put all my confidence in you, since your prayers before God are most powerful. For the greater glory of God and for the sake of Jesus, your loving Son, hear and grant my prayer. Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation.
Why I call this a "Miracle Novena"

After each mystery there is a special grace...of a virtue, reflecting the mystery said.   You can not go away from reciting this rosary novena empty (not fulfilled) the virtues alone...will bring the peace of God in your heart.  Also...when we ask for anything that is in God's will...He promised to give it to us...all the virtues are of His will...a tremendous blessing.
As I prayed this rosary...I could not help but feel the love I was expressing to our Precious Mother Mary.  Each bouquet of Roses is a gift you can give Our Mother.   To be able to give our Mother a gift is a grace in itself.
I know from my heart that if you say this novena...you will be blessed in a very special way...Our Mother has promised us her blessings...and she has been true to her word.
This novena is a 54 day novena 27 days of petition and 27 days of thanks giving (equal to 6 nine day novenas).   With praying each decade of prayer we are reminded of the mystery of the rosary as well as the intention of the grace and virtue that the Holy Trinity meant for us to have through the prayers and intercession of our Precious Mother in Heaven.  This prayer became a way of life for me...when I finished my first 54 days...I felt a strong urge to start right back up again...and it stayed that way up until the day of my accident in 2003.
The day of my accident...my husband was told that two inches forward or backward for my car I would have been dead...as he emptied the car...to drop it off  for repair...He saw the picture I had of the Blessed Mother over my visor...I know who protected me that day.  Thank you, Mother...I love you!  I miss reciting this novena for myself.  Since my injury I can not read a book very well...I am able to look at a computer screen with the letters enlarged and read for little bits of time.   It is much easier for me to  pray and follow the words on the screen.  Also before my injury...I had the novena almost memorized.  After my head injury I could no longer remember...even the prayers from my youth...like the Our Father or Hail Mary would hurt my head to recite the next line.  I know Our Precious Mother Mary, wants me to share this Rosary Novena with you...I have thought about this for very long time... how to make it easy to read for myself and others like myself, as well as all of God's children.  I hope you are all able to follow along...if you have any questions please message me...I will try to help you the best I am able.

Dear Jesus...I thank you from the bottom of my heart...for permission granted by, Charles Fiore, with ACTA Publications to put this beautiful novena prayer on my website...this awesome novena has been around since 1925 and  was  recently revised by the publishers to include the Mysteries of Light.
